This is true.

He was always going back.

As good a defender as pique clearly is, he was always suited to spanish football more than english football. Every thing in spain is on the deck, played at a slower tempo and defenders are usually given ages on the ball to pass it about which suits his style totally.

You've got the puyol throwing himself about like a £#%&!ing lunatic and Pique sweeping up the pieces.

Pique may have wanted to go back, but what were his reasons, a desire to return home or furstration that he was unlikely to get a chance at Utd with at the time Rio and Vidic both fit and playing superbly well. Barca did no present an easy in either, I believe that Puyol and Marquez were a settled pair at the time, not as highly rated as the Utd combo though/

In a sense both Evans and Pique got fortunate with injuries, Evans came back from loan at a time when Rio started to suffer from problems with his back and Pique at Barca got the opportunity after Marquez ruptured knee ligaments.

It has worked out superbly for Pique, inside a year he was a regular in the best club and national side in the world.

It has been a real surprise how Evans has been bullied this season, at loan at Sunderland in the championship he came up against physical forwards constantly and it never seemed to trouble him, we all remember him dealing with Drogba, and not being over powered with the ease that he has been this year. You have to put it down to a loss of confidence, you can say get in the gym and bulk up but it is as much about attitude as anything else. Look at Rafael and Fabio, Rafael has adapted to the English game, seems to thrive under and relish the physical confrontation, while his brother, though no coward, almost seems shocked by it at times.

agreed on all of that can't believe how much of a @#%&! Evans has been this season and he could be joining Brown on the way out in January, Smalling has been far better iin the games they have played this season and was a one man defence at tiimes last night

Fabio impressed me at Rangers (but look at how poor the opposition were) apart from that he has been average at best and downright abysmal at times ie last night and he seems to have the measure on rafael when it comes to tugging opponents back in stupid areas....Rafael is far better than his brother

He explained that once they expressed an interest in signing him he wanted to return home.

I suspect the Rio and Vidic factor did cross his mind too but I've not read anything where he says that was the reason. It was his boyhood team, we pinched him from there and after time here he got the opportunity to go back. He's always spoken very well about his time at Utd too.

Yeah Fletcher has been a well shit 'youth product'. He's only been heavily involved in our last 3 titles, which we won on the trott, and been heavily involved in us getting to 2 CL finals back to back, in that time...

£#%&! off pal.

BBWB's been a good servant to the club as well, if not the world beater we kind of hoped at first. I've no complaints with him.

Yep, these useless @#%&!s have only played a combined 1,099 games during one of the club's most successful eras.

Ferie out.

Here's a stat;

Quote:

United haven't conceded a headed goal when Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic have been on the pitch at the same time since 21 Mar 2010.
We've conceded quite a few when one of them has been missing.

he wasn't even getting a game in 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons

He himself said he was very close to quitting united at the end of 2007-08 season.
