Vio, why don't you just try shutting the £#%&! up and enjoying the possibility of this transfer. You're somehow ruining a lovely moment. You're special, I'll give you that.

Fergie must sell to boost kitty

By NEIL CUSTIS
July 05, 2007

ALEX FERGUSON has been told he must sell before he can buy again at Manchester United.

After spending nearly £50million on midfielders Owen Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani, Fergie knows there is nothing left in the summer transfer kitty.

So the Old Trafford boss is looking to ship out forward Alan Smith, with Everton a likely destination.

And defender Gabriel Heinze will be another star heading for the exit and a switch to Real Madrid. The pair would generate about £14m for Ferguson to reinvest on players.

The Scot wants a new striker and has told Smith he can go.

Earlier this week, Smith stressed his desire to stay put at United.

But Ferguson clearly has his targets and hopes to pick up £8m for the England ace, who joined the Red Devils for £7m from Leeds in May 2004.

Heinze will not be able to move until he returns from Argentina duty at the Copa America, which finishes on July 15.

The left-back has lost his place to Patrice Evra.

Mikael Silvestre may also leave with Bordeaux and Lyon interested in the versatile defender.

Seriously though, I have heard for a while now that it was very unlikely he would be staying at West Ham. So I was actually half expecting this.

If confirmed this will basically be the perfect year for me. Winning the title, murderers losing to Milan in the final, Boca winning the Libertadores, us signing Anderson, Hargreaves, Nani and Calitos, life in general has been great too.

I half suspect that I'm dreaming.

So will Tevez be it now until January or are we looking to bring in one or two more before the season starts?

Knowing our board we'll have to wait until January.

I think Malcolm's going insane on his deathbed. I expect the summer signings to conclude at the £275million mark.
