Default Michael Carrick

Fast becoming a top class all round midfielder. Started relatively quietly playing as a foil for Scholes but gradually as the season has progressed he has developed his game to become a complete midfielder. Started with his increased physicality against Chelsea and since then he's aded creativity in the final 3rd and a few goals too. Could turn out to be one of Fergies best signings as he is showing the ability to control a midfield and I think he's gonna do this for years to come. Thought he was outstanding last night.

Great display last night and a very good debut season but let's not suck each others dicks just yet.

I just think the signs are really good for him. He's become a far more complete player over the course of this season and is improving with each game. Maybe we shouldn't suck eachothers dicks but tickling eachothers balls isn't out of order.

carrick has been fantastic for us, especially when we've needed him most.

i have to say i had reservations about him when we signed him, but he's proving me wrong so far.

every credit to him. i hope it continues.

100% agree.

110% agree.

And I always knew Evra was going come good. Got slated to £#%&! on RI after his debut but the lads dun well.

Can anyone explain why he came in on the right last night, rather than Heinze moving to the middle and wes taking O'Sheas place.

Not that it mattered, but indulge me if you will.

He's very cool and calculated too. He never rushes on the ball. Never gets caught napping. Always aware and his pass completion rate is superb.

Doesn't even get that excited when he scores (£#%&!ing nob )

If he didn't look like a goober and was a midfielder plying his trade in Italy with a really exotic sounding name we'd be raving about him and urging Fergie to sign him up.

He's a lot more physical than I thought he'd be. He's a tough nut and a big frame to get past. He doesn't really tackle hard, he just gets his body in front of the ball and won't be shaken off. He wraps his long legs around and before you know it, we've got the ball back and he's releasing Ronaldo.

He's quicker than I thought too - a long stride.

As you say Bedders, he was just feeling his way in early days. A little tentative, but always steady and consistent.

Now he's adding goals to his game and showing more aggression and ambition in the final third. Popping up in the area. Getting into advanced positions he never would have a few months ago.

He took his goals magnificantly last night. Easy to get lost in a sea of 8 great goals, but both finishes were fabulous and he made them look very easy.

In fact, he makes the game look very easy. For me, our second best player behind Ronaldo this season.

A fine player who simply gets better and better.

O'Shea picked up a knock. Calf, I think. It seemed like just a precaution.

Not entirely sure how he managed the first to be honest and the second was an absolute £#%&!ing peach.

one thing everyone has to realise
jos and fletcher bring the best out of him.

him and scholes just do not work against top class opposition.

No, why Evra on the right ?

He coulda gone to left back, Heinze in the middle with Rio and Wes to Right back.

Not important but seemed the more likely option.

BTW some Ultras got the shit kicked out of them at McDonalds near the Grosvenor Casino last night Giving it loads until a few Salford lads turned up.

Sat in the safety of my car munching a chicken select.

Got to agree. At last I'm seeing Hargreaves as a must buy.

The first was fantastic.

The keeper was just off his line and flat footed, but Carrick only scored because he spotted this. The way he dug it out of his feet was excellent. It's hard enough to dig things out of your feet at the best of times but he was he was still moving forward and 20 yards out.

To get that up and over - superb.

That set them on their way and they never looked back.

Ooh, I'm getting warm......

Why make 3 changes when 1 will do is probbly the reasoning.

Carrick and Hargreaves'll make an outstanding partnership next year.

Oh, I see.

I think it was more a case of not needing to disrupt the back four. You'd be moving three of the back four just to accomodate him. The game was won so it didn't matter.

I think Fergie wants to keep Brown and Rio next to each other as much as possible and rightly so.

Carrick has been quality from the start. He is just getting better. Watch him. His vision is phenomenal. He will know a pass before he gets the ball many of times, and the amount of times he passes into a man who is out of his line of vision is great.
