A lot of it will be down to his metabolism I’m sure. The late Wayne Rooney was the same but if you’re motivated enough you just have to work that bit harder surely? Plenty of time to be chubby when you’re finished playing.

He's not really chubby though. He's a well put together lad it's just he's bulkier than we expect footballers to be.

I expect he's on a decent regime which is why it's probably just about his genetics. Some aren't cut out for the job. I still tend far more to the view that he needs a manager who demonstrates faith in him. Should probably have gone out on loan last year.

He's chubby for a footballer and he's meant to be a top level one

If genetics are bad then he needs to keep an even closer eye on it

Let's be honest he's always been a stumpy looking £#%&!er; he's a thick-set guy. But, as was the case with Anderson, he would not have lasted four years under LvG and Mourinho if he was the dreadful professional people suggest. There's more to it than that.

This.

He’ll have dietitians, Chefs and world class trainers at his disposal, so there’s no excuse to be the shape he is.

Manchester United could offer English left-back Luke Shaw, 22, a new contract because they are unwilling to pay £60m for Juventus and Brazil defender Alex Sandro, 27
The lads just put on a bit of timber while celebrating his new deal..

It’s not really about working harder. He probably works as hard as anyone at the club. It’s about food choices. He has a metabolism that leans towards partitioning calories more into fat than his muscles. Too much sugary shit in his diet.
