10+ year CQ gripe finally being rectified. Their 2011 parade was boosted exponentially by great weather while a few weeks later we had ours on a bank holiday Monday two days after losing a major final by which point Manchester had drunk itself dry and it was FREEZING, everyone there out of duty but no-one fancied it. Similar in 2013 when it was thunderstorms all morning deterring the casuals from showing up, only cleared up less than an hour before the parade started.

Good job they’ve got Mike Wedderburn on so he can tell everyone how there are “literally thousands of city fans” lining the streets.

Our 2011 parade was at 10am on a bank holiday Monday too while theirs was at 6pm. They could theoretically had benefitted from people making their way home boosting numbers, yet we still had more there.

Yup, I had to set an alarm despite living in Castlefield at the time. Can still feel the the ice rain falling as everyone tried to get a spot under the arches on Deansgate
