There's two ways to look at this: either he wasted his own talent, or it was wasted by Fergie (due to him being dropped in key matches, just as he was putting together decent runs). Wasn't bought as a goalscorer (as his pre-Utd record shows), but the fans thought he should have been.

£#%&!ing good player, who should have achieved more with us.

bulgarian mafia? nah, he was ace and coasted it. everyone says you have to train hard to reach the top but he tabbed it up and made players who had talent look like fools with minimum effort. top boy, imo.

Don't quite understand the hate for Berbatov some have for him here. Fantastic player, who didn't fit our system in short. Should have started the 11 CL Final, and didn't. Still wasn't bitter. Got moved on later.

That was bliss. Let's have another look shall we?

Only united player to score a hat-trick against the grief-seekers in the past 75 years

Always like Berbatov, he done well for us. His visual demeanour wasn't liked by Fergie though.

Wonderful footballer - definitely suited the red short. People saying in relation to Moyesgate that they don't mind not winning the league but they want to play more attractive football - same people who hated Berbles.

Should have done better, obviously but still scored some important (and sublime) goals that are too easily overlooked when hes appraised by a large portion of our support.

The skill and assist for a Ronnie against West Ham remains one of the best things I have seen live.

Amazingly talented footballer but one of the laziest I ever seen. Could never rely on him when it mattered.

The most infuriating player I have seen in a United shirt. Had all the talent in the world but completely the wrong attitude. Other than his hat-rick against the vermin and the odd fleeting moment during his 3 seasons his time at United was a failure IMO.
