Default Víctor not even allowed a locker at Carrington, wtf

Víctor Valdés not allowed dressing-room locker by Manchester United
• Goalkeeper cannot train at same time as former team-mates
• Spaniard has become an outcast under Louis van Gaal

http://www.theguardian.com/football/...louis-van-gaal

Has to be something more to this story. VV must have swung at the coach, or said something out of line.

The intrigue. Maybe he refused to play and was told to find a new club

Maybe when Van Gaal says there is no place for you at this club he actually means it.

Besiktas were the ones who changed the terms last minute.

It's a pretty weird way to treat someone you have a long history with and who is a legend of the game. He has won more than most of our squad put together and he can't even have his own locker....

What relevance does that have to anything? He didn't respect a club that has won a £#%&! load more than him but United should show him respect because Messi and co won him a few baubles?

I doubt we'll have another player refuse to play for the reserves. Job done.

This lad refused to play for the actual first team, still a legend. It can happen to anyone. Obviously poor of Valdes to refuse to play for the reserves if he was fit to play. Still find his punishment excessive.

Good point. The comparison between homegrown established first-teamer and all-time United legend Paul Scholes and paella-munching, 1 appearance shitstain Victor Valdes is a fair one.

Scholesy had plenty of credit in the bank at that stage. Valdes earned a bit of respect for turning down the dippers to come to United but - in hindsight, based on his performances and attitude since joining - we'd have been better off letting them have him.

Victor Valdes a "legend of the game"?!

Only good thing he's done since he's been here is take pity on Magic Cantona and let him take his picture in Tescos

The big difference with Valdes is that we did him a favour giving him a deal in the first place. No other top club wanted him and he threw it back in Van Gizzles face, hardly surprising that he's been ostracised. Frankly his arrogance £#%&!ing staggers me.

Debateable whether that was a good thing really (bearing in mind we all had to look at said picture)

Oh definitely not comparing the two. Just pointing out that if even a well regarded lad like Scholesy could make such a mistake, then anyone can. Was more in response to the 2nd part of your post. It will likely happen again, players are human.

That's very fair. Concede I didn't take into account that LvG essentially did him a favour letting him train at United and then handing him a deal.

Yet can't shake the feeling of a bit of pity. Must be a very humiliating experience for him daily.
