Heard news of this transfer on the radio this evening.

Some bint on the sports bulletin referred to him as "Arthur Viddle"

Who stays the best team in the world for longer than a year or so these days, though? It's rare for a team to reach back-to-back Champions League finals, let alone retain it which of course nobody has done. United went nine years between the treble and their next CL final appearance. Mourinho has reached just one final in the eleven years since he left Porto.

Pep has a tough job at Bayern because he can manage them supremely for 50 weeks of the year, but narrow margins in the latter stages of the Champions League will be where he's judged. Walking the league and performing quite well against Barca in the semi-finals of the CL is regarded as relative failure. It's brutal position, especially as he's had bad luck with injuries.

Also worth noting that while Bayern winning domestically is a formality now, when Pep took over they had won just three of the last seven Bundesliga titles.
