How many players are certain to be a good replacement for Carrick though? Outside of Busquets, it's difficult to think of a player who could sit in front of the United back four and run the show as well as Carrick.
Hopefully Schneiderlin could turn out to be similar to the Carrick signing, in the sense that we'd sign a player from a smaller English team, who would successfully make a big step up to replace a senior United midfielder.
Like Carrick, it might take about 8 seasons before 90% of our fanbase realise how good he is, too.
