Manchester United have not lost any of their six previous meetings with Anderlecht - which includes a club-record 10-0 win in their first European fixture.

The Red Devils, under legendary manager Matt Busby, thrashed the Belgians in the European Cup preliminary round second leg in September 1956.

The sides last met in the 2000-01 Champions League first group stage - Andy Cole's hat-trick helping United to a 5-1 win at Old Trafford before they lost 2-1 in Belgium.

Nah the home one was definitely the first game of the group. The away defeat (2-1 btw) was the penultimate match when we almost £#%&!ed up qualifying after losing to PSV as well.

Had to beat Dynamo Kiev in the last match and did, but only after they missed a sitter to make it 1-1 right at the end.

Was it Anderlecht who we had that feeder agreement with?

We were pretty shocking in Europe that season - just two campaigns after winning the CL teams had worked out how to play against us.

One of the reasons why Fergie was so determined to shake things up by getting Veron.......
