To be fair, Sevilla could've put the tie to bed in the 1st leg if they could finish.

The decent United sides of old would've smashed this Sevilla team 4-0 or 5-1 on aggregate. In fact, when the draw was made, it would've been seen as a bye to the Quarter Finals.

Not even the point. It's not like all we had to do was turn up. Would've been nice not to actively plan our own demise though.

And the decent sides of old also went out to teams of a similar or worse standard.

Not sure I subscribe to that. Monaco did us with a load of injuries and the team Porto beat wasn’t a very good United side of Fergies era.

Most of SAFs post 92 teams would have walloped them.

It's true, we did have a lot of galling champs leagues exits under the great man.

None of that excuses the total disregard for football the other night.

The point isn't that we lost, it's that we didn't try to win

That’s the annoying thing it’s being played out (by Jose) that we beat chelsea and Liverpool and we are just moaning about 1 result like spoilt slapped arses who still think we have every right to win the treble every year. That’s %@#$&!s utter %@#$&!s it’s the ridiculous way we played. These days it’s slightly embarrassing even when we win but for the whole of Europe to see us do that on Tuesday was beyond embarrassing.
