Will be a great addition to the squad, a better player with the ball than some give him credit for too. |

His work rate and fitness is also above most players and, as i mentioned previously, better on the ball than some realise. |

Gattuso was talked up as the replacement for Keane many times on RI, and Hargreaves is better than him. Gattuso while very tenacious, offers next to nothing with the ball at feet, and very rarely makes a forward run. Hargreaves reminds me of Paul Ince in some ways, mostly the pace and bursting runs, and i have no doubt in my mind he would be a massive success. Hargreaves, Carrick and Scholes would give great options. |

Very good comparison. I remember seeing him play a youth game (in one of the big youth tournaments) when he was 15/16 and, even though i was only young myself, he made a very big impression on me. Obviously he has altered his game now but that day he ran the game, box to box, amazing fitness and energy levels. Obviously he has worked unbelievably hard but he has inherited a lot of that. That day one of his best features was his ability to run from deep with the ball, with such power too. This isn't a particularly dominant feature of his game now but as we both said, as well as his obvious attributes, he is better with the ball than is being suggested. |
