In all seriousness, it's essential that we have a strong group of young, British/Irish players among the first team squad, preferably in the first XI.
Carrick, Shaw, Jones, Smalling and Rooney should be starting regularly. Hopefully the likes of Januzaj, Wilson and Pereira can provide a good, consistent representation of the youth system, too. The last thing I want to see is the team entirely made up of foreign mercenaries in the last stage of their careers. |

As good as he has been Young should be 4th in the pecking order next season behind Di Maria, Depay and Mata, although I could see Mata becoming more central.
As for the centre of midfield its Carrick and Herrera with Blind and Fellaini for back up as it stands. |
