Switching Off

Football Team v Wolfsburg

The squad that's travelled, although McNair has an ankle injury:
De Gea, Romero, McNair, Smalling, Varela, Borthwick-Jackson, Blind, Darmian, Schweinsteiger, Carrick, Goss, Powell, Young, Lingard, Pereira, Mata, Depay, Fellaini, Martial

DDG

Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Young

Schweinsteiger - Carrick

Mata - Lingard - Depay

Martial

That will probably be the team .

I would swap young and darmian over and have the front 4 as

----------------------------mata-----------------------
---------lingard---------------------------martial------
-----------------------------depay-------------

Pretty much picks itself, for the wrong reasons

Would go with that 11. Wouldn't be surprised if we went 3-5-2 shaped at some stage

DDG

Darmian - Smalling - Blind

Lingard - Schweinsteiger - Carrick - Young

Mata

Martial - Depay

If that's the team and Mcnair isn't fit, then our bench for this crucial European tie will be:

Quote:
Romero
Varela
Borthwick-Jackson
Powell
Goss
Pereira
Fellaini
Need a good start imo

If he starts Fellaini

Looks like there's only one thing for it, actually attack

Hopefully Darmian won't look quite so dogshit back at right back.

I'd be tempted to start Fellaini or Pereira just so we actually have a decent option on the bench

Brutal time to catch eight injuries. That £#%&!ing PSV last half hour

Might be worth starting Fellaini and McNair, and leaving Young and Memphis on the bench then. Like not putting your jumper on indoors, because you won't feel the benefit when you go out.

Just said the same above, pal Without the jumper stuff obvs.

Apparently Luis Gustavo might be out for them. Which is only fair.

Jesus wtf. LVG's training ruining them.

Maybe this will work best. Loads of young players. hungry and eager to do well. All we need is for mata and fellaini to be out.

Why hamper yourselves from the start though, not like he brings any solidity or accuracy with his passing for an away game... more likely to invite pressure.

Save him for the last 10mins & the return of the philoshoofy.

Wolfsburg looked very poor against dortmund. If we go out to them... :hanging:

I'd rather hoof it to him (which is what any manager would do given the option in desperation) than what we did in Eindhoven. Playing well, Martial and Memphis linking up nicely - on comes Fellaini to play as the hub of the team in midfield and kill the football dead

I don't care who plays behind him but if we get Mata in the middle to magjesctically caresses through balls across the efficiently engineered turf to the nippy fellas we will win this with consummate ease

could get mental tbh

I'm fed up of 70 minutes of dull possession and 20 minutes of hoof to Fellaini.

Start the big man, give him 20 minutes to cause havoc, go 1-0 up then bring little Juan Mata on to pass it around
