Martin Jol believes his Fulham players have every reason to be *optimistic ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Manchester United.

Jol suggested his men will get more chances at Old Trafford than they had in the 2-0 defeat at City and go into the fourth round clash without fear.

“We played at Old Trafford earlier this season and lost 3-2,” said Jol.

“Last season we lost only 1-0 there when we should have had a penalty when Danny Murphy was fouled. So we tend to do OK against Manchester United. But maybe Manchester City are different.

“We scored two goals against United, we didn’t score against City.

“It’s probably different against United. I wouldn’t say they’re more vulnerable because we have to go there next weekend! I feel City play a bit more rigid and play with more individual quality whereas United are – I won’t say anything!”
