They're in China not Japan. Get your Asian stereotypes sorted out !

Don't get how China and India with populations beyond a billion each, very football mad, are so shit. And I mean losing to Maldives (population 300,000) shit.

It's a fair point but they are not football mad. Basketball is more popular in China for example.

Then there is the simple fact that China lacks football pitches. When I lived in UK as a kid there were three pitches we could play on, all within a 10 min walk. In Beijing, we mostly played on university campuses and some of these were an hour's drive away. When you have 10-15 million people in the city, a lot of them are going to miss out

My other theory is that Chinese are culturally not as good at less technical/more instinctive team sports. That's probably a bit racist though
