What surprises me is that there seem to be reds in all parts of the crowd celebrating when the goals go in - can't see that happening these days.

Channel 429 BTW...

Was watching the other day and thought the same thing - the end where all the goals go in, but also other parts of the ground, lads stood motionless as the berties celebrate Quinns double in the 1st half - must have been reds!

Been watching premier league years and all the 90s ones have most grounds filled with reds all over celebrating goals.Dont see it anymore.

One of my all time favorite United games, from my favorite ever United side. Still gives me a buzz now when Keano gets the third

Remeber going to Coventry in probably 93/94 (Eric 1-0) in the cov end with a load of reds (my brother was at Uni down there n got us all tickets) being very quiet until the goal then about 1/4 of the home end went up to celebrate Erics goal ...

Yep, i've never had the same excitement watching a United side as I did in that season.

Even winning the CL in '99 didn't match it strangely enough.

Do you know why Tatty? For me who followed them, as a kid, United would do ok and ultimately let you down.

We won the FA Cup in 85 and lost in the FA Cup 0-2 to West Ham the following season (Frank McAvennie if I recall) and I remember the 10 game winning streak at the start of the season and then ended up 10 points behind the vermin - Think the first defeat was 0-3 to Leicester?

Anyway what I think I'm trying to say was that only in 93/94 came the time when I realised that we were a £#%&!ing awesome side - we'd go away and win easily, we'd batter teams and nobody could touch us (despite the odd defeat here or there)... I think as a United fan during the 80's there were a lot of false dawns...

A lot of reds these days take it all for granted but if you remember season 91-92 and the heartache with that, 92-93 was the first title but the season after was really when we were a class above the others.

In my mind anyway... I've been drinking

Definitely one of my top three United games. The goon after Keanes goal was just ridiculous. Remember that game for the torrential rain in town afterwards, seem to recall it was one of the first games ever when all the pubs seemed to be on lockdown afterwards. Ended up in that place by the boardwalk, shut now, name escapes me.

Wasn't that the game after we drew with Galatasary after being 2-0 up against them...

at the start City were loving their "2-0 up and you £#%&!ed it up, Gal-a-tas-ary" song.

The irony was ace

It was the game after the away leg (0-0) that meant we were out. Turkish Delights being flung over the divide in the Kippax.

Two Manchester United matches from two very different eras. Ron Atkinson's 1985 side travel to QPR, and Fergie's team visit Crystal Palace in 1992.
