Not sure just how much value he'd bring to Barca on the pitch. Strange one for me...

Barcelona, like most teams who want to stay up on top of the european game, don't wait until their best players are all past it before they start recruiting fresh blood.

xavi, iniesta and puyol have all played regularly into their mid 30s though - xavi made 30-odd appearances aged 35. messi at 30 has just signed into his mid 30s.

milan did the same with their last great side. it's very difficult to replace great and successful players, because they're still better than most anything else around.

He's a squad player at best if they want to maintain their current level.

2nd offer for Coutinho rejected today, £89m!

He definitely wants out. A 3rd bid and he might start agitating. Even if he doesnt manage to get out it will be nice to see their summer plans get a nice surprise.

"Barcelona have an agreement in principle to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for a base fee of €90 million (£81.6m) with bonuses that could bring the deal to €120m (£108.8m)"

Good luck to them - that's one way to waste the Neymar money.

Good deal for both parties imo. He's a Barca-ready player hitting his peak so should do well there and that's a silly fee for them to get.

They'll waste it too
