Yeah mate they beat a past it Germany, and then had to get through the behemoths of international football that are Ukraine and Denmark before failing to beat an ancient Italian team (that didn’t even qualify for the WC) in the final.

England are better than they have been in a long time, but France beat them in the WC without really playing that well, and for all the talk of it being a mega close game, England couldn’t score from open play.

They’ll get to the quarters or semis of the next tournament and the cycle will continue.

You can pretty much predict who is going to qualify from each group.

They should just automatically select the teams based on previous qualification history and wildcard or play off for the minnows. International football isn't like club football. There are far too many pointless qualifiers and friendlies played .

The middle Eastern lads won't stand for their star assets being risked in pointless international games when they own all the major clubs

They need to let teams in the top 20 ranked qualify automatically and then the rest can qualify amongst themselves. Waste of time these fixtures.
