Captain random strikes again

He attacked the suggestion he had left behind an antiquated system. “Antiquated was a bizarre description of the structure I left behind at Manchester United. Have you seen our new training ground?”

Fergie being economical with the truth and absolving himself of any blame? I'm shocked tbh.

@kenearlys ·19 mins
ferguson: "chelsea started the season with six players in their 30s" … number of those who were first-team players? two

@kenearlys ·18 mins
ferguson must be counting torres, because the current chelsea squad only has five players aged 30+. only terry and ivanovic expect to play

‏@kenearlys ·17 mins
a bit different from the situation he left, where three of the back four, the main central midfielder & the main centre forward were 30+

Zero £#%&!s are given from my end.

Don't care who appointed who, wherever Fergie had meetings with players, tea lady, programme seller etc, Moyes has gone and will never manage us again.

Time to move on from that horrible 6 month period.

He was offered the job up to 20 months before he walked out at old Trafford....

During the Everton contract negotiations, fergie personally told him to hold off signing....

this piece is exactly the problem - the desperation by almost every commentator to write the transition up referencing the transition from busby is incredible. it's the laziest journalism imaginable and it amazes me that people would fall for it...

and yet by the same token - and I'm prepared to put money on it that this applies to everybody who knows the United story well - it's impossible not to have considered the events in that context. it is not the most helpful context of course, and certainly not the actual context in which they should be considered either.
