Was a clever play on the word defensive tbf but I chose to ignore it tbh.

I was right you were wrong.

Crumps wins again.

Think Vlaar would be a sensible signing on the cheap, seriously need to add experience and organisation at the back. Pretty low risk too. Bring Delph as well, think his contract is nearly up, get them both on the cheap, definitely improves our squad.

Vlaar > Evans/Smalling

Delph > Fellaini/Anderson/Fletcher/Cleverly/Valencia/Young/Zaha

Laurent Blanc, Henrik Larsson and now Ronnie Roncrete Vlaaar.

Steady hand on the tiller is just the ticket.

Or we could buy some very good players instead.

The purse strings have been cut, pal. LvG doesn't play that second-rate value shit

I welcome new signings...

Means I can direct my "I've a shitty life and I'm a loser" anger at them

Sooner he signs the better IMO

The @MiguelDelaney piece on Vlaar is very well sourced. An individual close to Vlaar is saying it's all been agreed for January.

£#%&! me. he is £#%&!ing average. He looked so poor in the last 2 seasons for a relegation threatened side. This is just hype from the world cup where he is was slightly above average.

Hope this is not true unless one of evans or smalling are getting binned.

Thumbs up Ron Vlaar

I'll retract from what I said previously and will give the @#%&! a chance!

It's £#%&!ing difficult to think of any CB's worth chucking money at though, really.

Considering they are both never fit, I don't see what the problem.

Even the top tier ones that people are touting seem to have pretty big question marks over them be it pace, abilty to read agame, ariel ability or just plain lack of experience. For a prime Rio or Jaap Nandrolone Stam. Rio would be worth £70 Million at least.

Not even a great deal in Italy at the moment either, seems to be a good crop of young centre halves from South America. I blame Makelele for the shortage of decent ball playing centre halves, lot of big units playing that shielding role now. I also blame him for lack of proper midifielders.
Agreed. Makelele is a @#%&!.

Him and another CB would be lovely seeing as our defenders get injured every week.
Agreed.

Made a bid difference to Villa's defence last season, oh

Average defender, stick with what we have until somebody decent comes forward.
