Also FYI the government are matching everything raised by soccer aid!

so the government spend 4.2m of the tax monies out of the current pot, which should be a lot higher if mark owen had paid his taxes

therefore the british public is worse off

never mind eh ginners, only 5 more days and stevie g will be leading our boys to glory

He's just brave enough to put his head above the parapet, I for one agree with him Theakston shouldn't be in the team. He's done ok in the previous 3 / 4 but he's cost us the £#%&!in game last night.

"Bread and circuses" (or bread and games) (from Latin: panem et circenses) is metonymic for a superficial means of appeasement. In the case of politics, the phrase is used to describe the creation of public approval, not through exemplary or excellent public service or public policy, but through diversion; distraction; or the mere satisfaction of the immediate, shallow requirements of a populace,[1] as an offered "palliative." Juvenal decried it as a simplistic motivation of common people.
That should clear it up for you, but if there is any lingering confusion:

No need to thank me, I do it in the name of charity

Oh it was hilarious

You see, he wasn't supposed to be on the pitch, but he went on the pitch and fouled him, which he wasn't supposed to do

All the footie fans in the crowd had a right laugh
