He's close to being the perfect player, but he either doesn't understand the suspension rules, or has some weird chip on his shoulder when it comes to Europe. I know many of his bookings are from mistimed challenges, but that one was just a blatant lunge from behind.

Default I love Scholes, but will he ever learn

a) from experience?

b) how to tackle?

Both would be brilliant, but one or other would be handy approaching the business end of the season.

Sadly that is why he is a bit of a defensive liability, unbelievably stupid succession of tackles.

We are in deep shit now, Ole has to come off for Saha, simply does not have the legs to be effective at this level.

They weren't dominating though. And it's not like he made a heroic sacrifice like Ole vs Newcastle in 1998. He made two pointless fouls on the half way line, which this jobsworth ref couldn't wait to punish.

Can't think of the words to describe the sheer stupidity.

he was a @#%&! tonight. it was so obvious what was coming. you expect rooney to be the one losing it, scholes should know better

for someone so good he's never learnt a thing from previous lessons
