Genuinely think it would have been harder though not sure it would have equated to losing. Thats just not a game and set up for him and I wouldn’t start him next game either….

I’m not sure we’d have defended as well, he doesn’t have the discipline of any of the 3 midfielders we had on the pitch.

He would have given us an extra bit of class going forward though - there were quite a few times when the ball came to The Scottish Player with the opportunity of a fast break, and he just lumbered about and lost all momentum, and occasionally the ball.

The Scottish Player does nothing but the odd shot and messing up attacking moves. Bruno would be much better there with Marino and the slow one behind him.

Erik was forced into that set up and hopefully that’s how we start games for now. mcT and Bruno together simply can’t work.

We would have lost.

Bruno is capable of some great play and goals but, like rashford, he’s more about himself than the team. When he’s on top form, he’s a real asset. When he’s anything less, he’s a drag on the team.

Bizzare views here. It was pretty much the perfect game for Bruno. Liverpool were wide open in the second half and we just needed an extra bit of class. The discipline we saw yesterday was the having the two holding midfielders which meant we weren't overrun down the middle for once (and more comitment from the centre halves in making blocks etc)

Worse, but not because of him. We’d have played him, The Scottish Player and Amrabat.

His suspension forced ETH’s hand and it’ll be interesting to see what he does now he’s back.

Agreed. Bruno in for Amrabat or Mainoo would've meant The Scottish Player would've been one of the deeper two, which would've been mayhem. Bruno in for The Scottish Player and we probably would've looked more threatening going forward.

Not sure about this. Cant see how McTomminay could have been worse than Amrabat yesterday in the deeper role. While Amrabat didnt over commit going forward he couldnt get near anyone all game defensively. Contributed nothing at either end of the pitch.

The Scottish Player couldn't control a football yesterday. Amrabat put himself about, tackled and passed the ball. And he controlled the football.

I'm not saying Amrabat was good, but there's Amrabat, and then there's an absolute spotty Mccluster£#%&!.

Worse yesterday. Glad he was dropped and we put in a mature defensive performance. But if we want to win matches, then he needs to play but in a more disciplined mature way than his whiny frustrated close to tears run everywhere bullshit.

The point is that we wouldn’t have had those two holding midfielders there were it not for Bruno’s suspension.

If he’d played Amrabat, Mainoo and Bruno, then ok, but I think It was nailed on to be Amrabat, The Scottish Player and Bruno.

It’ll be interesting to see what he does at West Ham this weekend.

So the point is really why did it take a suspension to Bruno for Erik to play Mainoo with Amrabat?

It's obvious.

Well, that too, yes.

His hand was forced, but hopefully it will make him rethink. He does have a habit of sticking with what works, so he must surely be reluctant to break up a midfield two that kept things quiet at Anfield.

Or what doesn't, as the case may be.
