Actually makes a deal of sense if we're effectively looking to get shot of Rooney.

If he went to China we'd be looking at getting probably £70m+ for him, plus having to stump up none of his wages.

If he wants to go to Everton then it would make sense to get Lukaku for below his market value. They say £100m but he's never going for that... reckon Rooney + £60m (so... £60m?) would do it?

Whatever, picking up Lukaku & Morata would be tremendous.

They'd rather just take Rooney for nothing from us and sell Lukaku to Chelsea for 100 mill

We're not signing Morata and Lukaku as we're not going to be playing two up top and neither of those is signing to be anything other than first choice

Also signing both of those would basically kill any chance Rashford has of making it as a centre forward here
