That is true, tbf. He's tried some very ambitious ones down the years, too, only to get knocked back. I remember a few years ago he went hard for Lucho Gonzalez from Porto. Moutinho and Banega have also been targets in the past.

Didn't he have a pop at getting Riquelme, too? If there was one way to get Sers on board
