1 starting centre back
1 defensive midfielder
1 rounded central midfielder
1 striker- Belotti would be my preferred and gettable option

Clearly there's a issue with Shaw (harsh as it is), but he's still a kid and hopefully we won't be making any daft decisions regarding his future this summer, nor should he take the easy option and walk away.

As for the original question, more quality. Top CB, top midfielder, top winger, Griez.

We're not far off.
Top winger AND Griez?

Those days are gone.

Quality not quantity.

If Spurs miss out on top 4, i'd go for one of the Belgiums.

Rakitic? Griez and throw in Zlatan's mate

Yep. Just cause we can.
So we need five top class players? Not sure that's "not that far off" pal

Love to see it, though. For me Griezmann could be bad news for Mata or Mhki.

I'd be more tempted to get that quality winger you speak of and just sign a more modest striker like Coracao's suggestion.

He is quality. But thanks for your input.

I said 4, just throwing out names for his list.

Griez will be top for Mata and Mhiki, especially Mhiki

Why sign a striker? The big man and Rashers have that position sorted. All opinions at the end of the day, long way from the days of being linked with Igahlo.

Why would this free flowing attacking side possibly need another striker, when we are relying on a 35 year old (who may not be here next season), and our other options for the position (Rooney, Rashford and Martial) have 8 league goals between them all season. The former who is likely to be binned, a 19 yr old who is not yet consistent enough, and a player who is arguably first choice in another position.

I wonder why people are pondering us buying striker.

Rashers hasn't scored a league goal since September, right? So a 36 year old and a kid the manager doesn't fully trust isn't sorted imo.

Someone who can score goals who isn't 35 years old. All else pales into insignificance besides that right now.

Carrick/Fellaini replacement a bigger priority imo.

Striker and CB not far behind.

Left back too if Shaw isn't fancied.

Starting RB, CB, LB, DM, CM, RW, CF.

To start with.

Hmm maybe. With someone other than Zlat capable of scoring reliably we might be second in the table now, not (forever) 6th.

So many of the supporting cast promise so much but show form in little patches.

We've yet to have Rashford and Martial playing well at the same time. When other players have proved capable of scoring, we've scored well.

Pogba, Rashford, Mata = 4 v Leicester
Martial 2, Zlatan 2 = 4 v West Ham
Mkihi, Zlatan, Mata = 3 v Leicester

I can't recall many lower scoring games where players other than Zlatan have scored the crucial winner/equaliser.

Rashford at Hull, Rooney at Stoke, Mkihi v Spurs, spring to mind, but cant recall many more.

Be nice if someone else stepped up to turn draws into wins and losses into draws.

Pogba v Sunderland (? or Palace? or maybe Stoke, at OT)

At least that hasn't been a huge problem recently, which makes our inability to move up the table all the more maddening.
