Default The key to tonight?

Putting just enough new players in and dropping the Shaw and Maguire divly duo.

There was just enough of a reset in there tonight for the managers message to get theough and banish the mediocrity that those two bring us.

Their relative success with England makes them think they’re United players when they haven’t got a clue about the standards of our best clu

Sell them both now and let the infectious new players thrive and banish the acceptance of average

Effort.

They worked their £#%&!ing %@#$&!s off

They’ve set the standard now and need to do it week in and week out.

Yep. It’s so simple, but we set the tone. Ten Hag talked about work rate and attitude all week. Philosophy and the rest means nothing without it.

I agree.

They don’t put in the effort. Too laborious, slow, slowness of thought as much as physically. They’ve been a massive handicap for us for years.

belief, momentum and effort.

you start the game well, it breeds confidence and belief. That's borne out of effort and attitude.

That's what won it.

Keeping it simple, playing to our strengths on the break. Reminiscent of Ole performances in big games (before last season). Great to see the back of non-players like Shaw 🙂

Exactly. It’s being proactive. We talk about teams playing their ‘cup final’ against us, but it’s often because we invite teams into games with our passive £#%&!. The opposite applies. Liverpool were off it, but we provoked a lot of that. Do the £#%&!ing basics and the quality we do have (which is easy forget sometimes) will show.

The amount of times we start on the back foot because of something slabhead does negatively in the first 5 mins.

Disliked shaw for a while now, hope it’s the end for the fat @#%&!

Those two are certainly emblematic of what was different. Does just feel like the two of them are finished at the club.

Ten Hag said we needed mobility and agility at the back tonight when asked about his selection. A pretty clear message.

Confidence

Which was bred by energy and effort, doing the basics well and minimising the risk of mistakes (e.g. de Gea playing long)

They need to graft like that, with that intensity, from minute 1 every game. You can ease off when you’re 4-0 up, you @#%&!s.

Erik's taking out the shit slowly but surely.

Taking out Maguire and Shaw and replacing them with tenacious skilful players made a huge difference.

The Scottish Player and Rashford will be next. They'll all be subs where they realistically belong.

Erik demanded a standard and it was met, directly related to those he dropped and enforcing his authority. Loving this guy

Team spirit. They worked their socks off for each other and a defensive block had another player coming over to praise them. DDG was very supportive.

Yep, another reason we should be going for Antony and Gakpo, and should be prepared to let Ronaldo go if he's not willing to be a squad player.

Hopefully having increased competition for places will help in terms of the effort put forth.
