Despite what you may think of their defence, the rest of the squad is quite strong.

Besides he'll have a blank chequebook to basically go and sign who he wants. His name alone will attract players who otherwise wouldn't even think about going to City.

Basically, when he goes to City...18 months down the line when we're replacing Van Gaal with Ryan Giggs, we will be royally and utterly £#%&!ed.

We have 2 choices in this scenario.

1. Van Gaal goes and we give the job to Mourinho
2. Van Gaal keeps the job until the summer and we somehow perform a miracle and get pep to come to Old Trafford.

Anything else is going to just prolong this misery.

Rooney is more or less done. Carrick the same, probably Schweinsteiger; the less said about Fellaini, Young and co the better. Mata's shot his bolt.

Dunno what pep would do with this team but the right thing to do is build your team around your best players and that simply isn't happening here. We don't get the best out of any players.

Seems like we're on a constant cycle of trying to fit Rooney or fellaini into a hole and moving everyone else around them. 4231 is not working.
