rooney has shown for utd he can play up front on his own, in fact its starting to look like his most effective position tbh.

why play any of the other shit @#%&!s?

----- lampard --- barry
lennon ---- gerrard --- j. cole
----------- rooney

I've said this for ages.
Although I'm a top red and don't give a £#%&!, why try and play Gerrard in a position that he never plays in?!?! Ie, centre mid.

He plays as an midfielder/2nd forward for scouseshite so why not play him off Rooney.

What would Lampard be up to in that lineup?

A midfielder. Same role he currently plays with England.

It's basically the exact same formation. Your just swapping Joe Cole and Heskey in terms of personnel.

There's an issue, not sure he's always that effective playing as a midfielder for England. Tbh, his best work is done in the final 3rd in a position that, more than ever would be occupoied by Gerrard wouldn't it?

Gerrard would just occupying Rooney's current position in the side as a second striker, with Rooney playing the more advanced role.

Aye, he probably won't. I only said I like the look of it, as, like most England sides it looks good on paper. Despite him being a shocking footballer in pretty much every way I would probably play Heskey due to England seemingly always performing with him in the side.

The other, could be used as plan B instead of the usual plan of hit and hope.

I'd agree with that. Tbh, I still prefer Rooney in a forward two tbh.

i say no.

as good as those goals were he doesnt offer anything else to that team.

id rather have Carlton Cole in there as a wild card option.

my 4 strikers would be;

heskey
rooney
defoe
c. cole

Lampard does.

Essien

Ballack Lampard

Deco/Cole

He has a license to get forward but does play central midfield.
