Rooney and Defoe together would be the best combination they could cause a lot of problems to defences. But now, apparently we need Crouch or Heskey up there to launch the ball up to.

Oh and I'd take Owen, he would be a great option off the bench for England.
+1

I dont get it either Emile "WorkHorse" Heskey and Peter "LadderMan" Crouch are both £#%&!ing garbage

Crouch's international record, particularly against shite, is very good.

Heskey, everyone who plays with him, seems to rate him.

I know this doesn't tally with forum wisdom, but Heskey with his right head on scares the shit out of the average jonny foreigner.

Does he though?

I think defenders would be more scared of Rooney and Defoe together tbh.

England will not win the World Cup with someone like Crouch playing games.

Agreed - Heskey is a perfectly decent player and as it's a team game - he fits into the team rather well.

I'm with Koppas. Rooney Heskey first choice. Defoe, Crouch and Owen to support.

I wouldn't actually start with him - I would go Rooney - Defoe.

and given the lack of actual top drawer strikers I would take either Crouch or Heskey, with Bent and Owen.

I was just saying Heskey doesn't deserve the stick he gets, fwiw I think he underachieves / has underacheived, but when he is up for it, he is a £#%&!ing handfull.

I'd take 5 strikers & take them all.

Rooney
Defoe
Heskey
Crouch
Owen

£#%&! Carlton Cole.

If only 4 strikers, I'd rather have Defoe than Owen.

Word. Done absolutely nothing to justify a place on the international scene except score a couple of goals. He's £#%&!ing shite.

Capello goes back for him and tells Carrick to get off the coach/plane.

Bridge is so massively good, Capello is taking him twice.

I woyuldn't play rooney and defoe as a starting pairing, not a good pairing for me, despite them being good players. England need to get the best out of Rooney and Heskey will do that.
