Yes, I know how the word originated borsuk, thanks mate

The point is, words change their meaning over time. And the word in question, particularly, has simply become a catch-all term used by people such as no-mark football pundits - who wouldn't have the teenie-weeniest inkling of what it "really" meant

Our injuries last season were shocking, yet we got on with it. At times we had Scholes, Hargreaves, Wes, Ronaldo, Fabio, Berbatov and Gary Neville all out together. Not to mention Rios injuries.

Liverpool get Torres and Gerrard injured and its a major excuse and big news.

Everton have done nothing but moan about injuroes all season. Moyes refused to speak to the press after their Carling Cup defeat saying he was being picked on with reagrds to fixtures, yet in 2002 United played away at Liverpool on the Sunday, then away at Arsenal on the Monday, I cant recall any team doing that before or since (In the modern game at the top level).
Worthless Cup on the Monday though. Only Dwight Yorke played from the first team and he was on his way out.

Jermaine Pennant came off the bench and got sent off for a foul on Djordic. @#%&!

Oh, and I think I'm supposed to call you a @#%&! too. @#%&!.

QUOTE] Scholes played as well if I remember correctly, or did he refuse to travel in the end?
Doesnt matterif it was a Worthless cup, its still 2 fixtures in 2 days.
Plus it was Liverpool and Arsenal, so quite top level opponents.

That was the game where Scholes - for almost certainly the only time in his entire career - pulled a strop pre-match and refused to play
