Is it not always the same thing with Evans though, dodgy ankle or something? Seem to remember him playing the back end of last season with it. Hopefully this spell off will see him rid of it until the summer so he can get it sorted properly. Quite why this wasn't sorted the summer past is a bit of a mystery (ditto Rio with his back imo).

All jokes aside, that isn't a bad move. Experienced, powerful defender who still has his best years ahead. A pay as you play deal would be a good move imo. Get it done.

I actualy wouldn't rule it out. Fergie is prone to signing players he has always liked in the twilight of their careers - and it would only be a stop gap until the end of the season.
