Default "Quadruple is only a matter of time" says Kompany

What a £#%&!ing #@&%!

First I heard of this was yesterday from Pellegrino - how long has it been going on for? They aren't even close to winning 3 of the 4 trophies ffs

Might have to revise my stance on the Kompany chant if they go out of the FA Cup/Europe now he's said that...

Yeah, Pellegrini leads it. Took over in the summer and immediately said they should win the league.

Seems very happy to put them under such pressure. Appears to be working so far.

He's quite right, of course.

Eventually, somebody will do it. I don't see the problem

They can still do the domestic treble. I'll keep my mouth shut.

Don't most top managers need a transitional period of about 3 years before mounting a challenge for the league, nevermind all the trophies?

Depends. If they're unfortunate enough to be left with a title-winning squad inherited from the greatest manager in the game, then yes.

Most other countries don't have two major cup competitions so comparisons are problematic, but the only example I can recall *ever* is Celtic in 1966/67. Won the Glasgow Cup as well

People said The Treble would never happen. It only took 43 years. The League Cup has been going what, 50 odd years? I reckon if you give it 100 years, somebody will have done it.

There were only 5 Doubles in a hundred years up to 1993. There have been 6 in the last 20 years.

Also up until 20 odd years ago only one team could win all the trophies, as only one was in the European Cup.

So City wouldn't even have been in the competition this year. We wouldn't have been in it in '99 etc.
