It was in Paris, yes. I'd just got married and when the fixtures were out I was contemplating sneaking a United away into the honeymoon, but work intervened, fortunately for the missus

And for me, by the sound of it...

Sad, upset and hurt at leaving United; but nearly six years after the incident, after several years as a manager and no opinion on whether he felt Fergie was justified in kicking him out?

Good to seem him adopting a more conciliatory tone about his time at United tbh. There seemed to be a period after he left where it almost seemed like he was deliberately trying to alienate the United fan base with everything he said which was gutting.

In retrospect a lot of his complaints at the time were valid but equally he was nowhere near the player he used to be by that stage either so he was a bit guilty of hypocrisy in that respect.

Amazing player, the video posted above is top, that final goal in the 3-2 against citeh

Ronaldo also had one of his worst ever games for United that night, didn't he??

Quite a lot of net chatter along the lines of "no end product - sell the useless show pony" back then

never unselfish enough to control his temper or recognise his own limitations (and the false modesty ain't fooling no one), should have learnt to accommodate veron and certainly not cut out for management.

thank god he never signed for arsenal or blackburn.

Scholes was a great player. My favourite cheese is Wensleydale.
