Default Keano still hurt by his exit from United

Quote:
Roy Keane says he is still hurt at the abruptness of his exit from Manchester United after 12 years at the club.

The former United captain left the club 'by mutual consent' in 2005 after what was reported to be an acrimonious dispute with manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

And after six years, Keane has finally made the admission. "When I left Manchester United, it hurt me. I had a disagreement with the manager.

Back in the day, we did our talking on the pitch.’

‘I played on the edge, that’s why I picked up a lot of injuries. If players kick me, I kick back.’

‘Don’t complicate the game of football. It is a simple game.’

‘If I could play one more game, it would be for Manchester United against Arsenal.’

‘Players are only worth what clubs are willing to pay. It is the way of the game now.’

‘When I left Man United, it hurt me. I had a disagreement with the manager. Went in at 9 and at 10 past 9 I was out. That really hurt.’

‘There is life outside football, but I hope to be back in management soon. I miss the madness.’

‘Playing is FAR easier than being a manager. The difference is like chalk and cheese.’

‘Ferguson’s strength is he has control. Helps that he’s won trophies. Players respect him. He finds out about character before signing players.’

‘My closeness to the manager was exaggerated. I was just like any other player.’

‘People misunderstand my relationship with SAF. They think I met him every morning for tea. Wasn’t like that. He knew what he wanted from me.’

‘Manchester United would never spend 50m on a Torres during the season.’

‘To win an international tournament is hard. England only won 1 WC. My country won none. African countries have done well.’

‘We had people you could go to war with at Manchester United. You just looked in their eyes and you knew they were ready. No words needed.’

‘Manchester United will not sign a player if they haven’t got the right character. They spend a lot of time looking at him and not just ability.’

‘I was never going to be as skillful as Scholesy or Giggs or Ronaldo. What I knew how to do was tackle and give them the ball.’

‘I still keep in touch with the lads. Ruud, Nicky Butt, Scholesy and the others. I miss that feeling of being in the bus after a game.’

I'm sure people will find fault with almost everything, but to me it all makes sense, except for how random some of the statements appear.

"I miss the madness"

What a £#%&!ing player he was. I'd kill for a similar player to be at United now.

They're quotes from a Q&A he was doing in Ghana with Marcel Desailly apparently.

Thumbs up Re: Keano still hurt by his exit from United

Loved Keano.

Lille away just after he'd gone was like a wake.

Lots of short.

Sentences.

Was he being interviewed by Garth.

Crooks.

Brilliant player or rather, a unbelievably unpalatable adversary but not my favourite United player by a fair bit.

Deserved it, it was a shocking performance. Still not sure how Fergie turned that rabble into title winners within 18 months.

Was that in Paris by any chance? Tried to start a half ironic chant of Fergie Out at the end of that if it was. I was joking, kind of.

Possibly one of the shittest matches I've ever been to.
