It is the lowest grade of the offence and covers anything from spitting to shoving. But accepting a caution is a legal admission of guilt.

He's apologised, suffered an excruciating interview on Sky that brought him to tears, what's to be gained by sacking him?

Sack or no sack do you reckon? Felt a bit sorry for him tbh.

Not that it's got ANYTHING to do with me like.

Don't get me wrong I won't be crying myself to sleep if he gets binned but he's been humiliated and it's a stain on the otherwise unblemished record of Liverpudlians, I'd leave it there.

Also the 'I'd rather be sent to a gas chamber than be spat on' crew are complete oddballs.

.
I think right now Sky are definitely leaning to not sacking him. They’d have just got rid today.
The Sky News interview was something they told him to do, NQAT. Go in there, be remorseful, shed a tear or two to gain a little sympathy. That’s worked.
Who knows how it will play out over the next few days though.

yep. laying the ground work for a suspension which in my opinion is the right move.

There are exceptional circumstances. maggers is really, reaaaaaaaaaaaaally annoying.

The more I see it and think about it just seems a really bizarre thing to do, surely he gets stick like that on a daily basis from fans. Had he been drinking?
