Default LvG tactics left our players near mutiny

Danny Taylor with the details:

The scale of disillusionment in the dressing room is laid bare as the Dutchman’s era ends to little sympathy among players or fans

Quote:
Van Gaal, to give him his due, was always willing to listen to complaints and encouraged his players to speak up. But the bad feeling continued. From that point onwards, he started sending the players individual emails detailing their faults and submitting video clips to highlight his dissatisfaction. Except by that stage a lot of the players were so disillusioned many ignored the emails or redirected them straight to their trash. Van Gaal suspected as much and had a tracker fitted so he could check if the emails were opened and for how long. It became a game of cat and mouse. Some players opened the emails on their mobiles, then left their phones on the side and wandered off for 20 minutes.

And the knife twisting begins. The cup win already feels like a lifetime ago. At least let him have a shred of dignity for a few days ffs

Some of that stuff is undeniable strange, and some of it is the players being soft arses.

Jesus christ can we not just enjoy our FA Cup win for a day?

Haven't won the £#%&!ing thing in 12 years and we can't even just have a couple of days of smug enjoyment without this circus again.

24 hour/non-stop sports news coverage really has drained all the £#%&!ing fun out of football. And yes i realise i'm complicit in it because i read it but whatever.

This is the bottom line: Van Gaal gave a new meaning to the saying “football, bloody hell”.

Woodward seriously needs to £#%&! off
We've become a circus on his watch

Get an experienced director of football like that lad at Atleti and bring back some professionalism to football side of the club

it is not just Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and all those other player-turned-pundits from the Ferguson era who insist there will have to be a massive clearout. Many at Old Trafford are saying the same. How many need to go? “Ninety per cent,” says one important figure, after giving the question long consideration.
So... it's the players' fault.

This will be the start of the van gaal assassination that someone high up at United was briefing to selected journalists last week. I have no doubt that whoever that was, is the same person behind the leak yesterday. They obviously didn't want van gaal to have a moment in the sun by winning the cup. Choreographed assassination United style.

Well it's not like most of what is said in that article isn't what we've heard before. To his credit, Marlo did tell everyone on here a year ago that he had it first hand from United players about our "drill sergeant" manager, I think he said.

No. But some journalists were briefed about such things last week by a high up at United. Loading the gun ready for after the cup final. And some people are stupid enough to believe United when they say it was mendes behind the classless leak yesterday. All part of the van gaal assassination. Just like the way the Moyes' departure was handled. Maybe that was mendes too.

Giggs’s own thoughts about Van Gaal’s managerial style are understood to fall roughly in line with those of Neville and Scholes, his close friends, and the last couple of years have been exceedingly awkward for him as assistant manager, brought up on the old United principles but having to adhere to a different way of thinking and not wanting to rock the boat.
Shock

He should have £#%&!ed off last summer, rather than undermine the regime from within by "looking stifled on the bench"

How was that ever going to work? What a £#%&!ing mess this club is.

looking forward to all these exaggerated tales of ITK being passed into fact and added to the rolling narrative of united by the club's critics

And literally everyone who knew who Louis Van Gaal was knew he was that type. In 2014 that was what people wanted iirc.

Javi Martinez praised Guardiola for making him watch 200 videos. Our lads can't read an email. Quality.

Yeah but they're their own men, just speaking the truth. Wouldn't have had Giggs' blessing or anything. They'd have still attacked van gaal and his methods if Giggs was fully supportive of him.
