The man is a class act and is our most intelligent player. He just lets the ball do the work. He can't play in the big games, agreed. But Birmingham at home...if he shouldn't start in games like these then he won't ever get a game this season. |

I seem to recall the all conquering treble side struggling to a 1-0 home victory against Everton when they were really shit, relegation battlers, without having a single shot on target in the entire game. I was there, it was £#%&!ing dire.
Happens to every team. Especially teams with players making home/league debuts, important players missing against teams playing their first game in the League. |

Thing is we [played some good football at times yesterday, particularly in the first half. It wasn't a brilliant performance by any means but it was decent enough, certainly better than the last 2 years, and really should've been 3 or 4 goals to us. |

we'll have half a dozen good games at OT this season, 10 if we're lucky. if they don't get more locals in then in 10years time the support will be truly £#%&!ed. reduce the prices for locals under 20 (ish) and slap a bit extra on the OOTs (me included). do something anyway ffs cus you can almost feel it dying at times. getting more desperate by the season. ...& that's where, to a certain extent.... .....I hear what Marlo's saying (except for the bit about us having no flair players - Rooney is the best centre forward in the Country by a £#%&!ing mile. He will score 20+ goals again & he's a potential United 'Great' as far as I'm concerned) |

I hope Rooney gets the goals you think he will. My own feeling is this will be tough, not least because teams will concentrate on stopping him now that they don't have Ronaldo to worry about. Add to that the one dimensional nature of our midfield and having only one top class strike partner in Berbatov (who does look a lot better already this season) and I really do think we'll find goals hard to come by. More then that - against the top sides, or in the really important games you sometimes need a player to create something out of nothing when the teams needs it most. The only player capable of doing that in our entire attacking line is Rooney. So if he doesn't pull us out the shit when we need it most, i don't think anyone else will Owen is a £#%&!ing joke. No pace, shit all round game and unable to beat a keeper in a one on one. £#%&!ing cripple can £#%&! right off. |

Owen was not offside imo and scored a perfectly good goal yesterday - Quedrue played him on with his left leg, so it's understandable why the linesman may have missed it
Hart made a decent save the second time Owen was put through, though that telegraphed finish rarely works for Rooney when he's clean through either so I'd expect Ferguson to raise the matter Both the defence-splitters - Valencia's perfectly weighted and timed through ball and Rooney's chest pass - were absolute top class |
