To be fair, I love wayne rooney as much as anybody, but his attitude today was not in the least bit impressive.

id rather he scored goals tbh.

i dont care about his crossing abilityand at the moment it seems he cant striker a ball properly anymore.

silly chips and crosses are great but he cant even spank a ball anymore from the egde of the box.

also the difference between his defending and tevez' is tevez is doing purely because he wants the ball back where as rooney is always doing it in a spiteful revenge seeking mission.

no we do have a forward, that was played behind giggs and Campbell for the majority of the game acting as a playmaker in a team that lacked one majorly today.

to be honest though he needs to clam down sometimes.

So because we have no one else, Rooney's godawful performance is excused?

If anything, his performance should be scrutinized even more when Ronaldo and Tevez aren't there. He relies on them too much these days, even when they play he just wastes chances.

What happened to the independent, world class and most of all HAPPY Wayne Rooney of a few years ago. We've only seen that in flashes, the biggest run of that sort of form was in the run in for the 06/07 season and a little period in October before he got injured.

He takes far too much time to get started, Rooney was signed for £27m 4 years ago. He has not built on his fantastic first couple of seasons. And injuries simply are no longer an excuse.

Tevez is a lot better. Which shouldn't be right, because although Tevez is very talented...Rooney has more in his locker. Which makes this glorified Dirk Kuyt kind of performances from Rooney a joke and a discredit to himself and Manchester United.

I don't completely agree with that. It might be spiteful revenge on occasion, but most of the time he is just simply trying to get the ball back. However, regardless of his motive, he is becoming his own worst enemy. For Wayne Rooney to be at his best, he has to be the explosive Wayne Rooney in and around the penalty area. By and large last season he wasn't, and today he most certainly wasn't. There isnt much wrong with his game, but when we need him as our main attacking threat, he has to stop doing so much £#%&!ing work elsewhere. Simple as that.

The £#%&!wit Ensemble seem to be unable to grasp that Rooney is too often played out of position.Ferguson has said that much.
