It was reported on Wednesday night that Manchester United have rejected a £60million bid from Real Madrid for David de Gea.


Sky Sports made the claim, while also citing their famous sources by saying De Gea is ‘happy with life at United under Jose Mourinho’ and the goalkeeper is ‘happy to be part of a squad that will be playing in the Champions League next season’.


According to seemingly every other outlet, it never happened.
United were quick to brief everyone that no bid had been rejected because one was not received.


Nor are there any reports of the supposed offer in Spain. If Real were to have submitted an offer, you can bet the Madrid-based media would have known about it. As it is, Real are little preoccupied by the matter of a Champions League final on Saturday.
