We could have been absolutely sensational yesterday (no really) and the atmosphere would probably still have been a bit flat. Nobody is up for that level of opposition, it was a routine game and we won comfortably without really hitting top gear, a few nasty tackles aside. After the Spurs disappointment that match's capacity to lift the fans was limited.

Easy to say when I don't go of course. But the atmosphere could always use some improvement.

Bit £#%&!ing rich to kill our momentum with one of the worst performances of his tenure and then expect a cauldron of noise for a home game against £#%&!ing Huddersfield.

The fans were no more half arsed than most of his players, who get paid rather than pay to participate.

Exactly, it was a nothing performance in a nothing game, needed a response after Wednesday and didn't get it. Lucky they didn't get booed off, other than Sanchez chance don't remember their keeper making a save a pitiful return against a team that didn't have a shot on or off target.

A very odd time to criticise the fans, when an apology to them just three days earlier wouldn't have gone amiss.

It’s 2018. It’s £#%&!ing Huddersfield. Why would it be rocking?

If we were playing Liverpool then fair enough but some relegation shit@#%&!s we beat comfortably ffs

Wembley was rocking when spurs scored after 11 seconds.

TBH think Jose's words taken out of context, talks about size of stadium and how it mitigates against that close-packed feeling you get at other grounds?

Perhaps he's hinting to the owners about a new stadium?

Jose's knows "we only sing when we're winning" because that's what we are use to... you bring back the glory days Jose and then listen to Old Trafford roar!

That's some desperate excuse making. If we were exciting/going somewhere, the atmosphere would be better.

It probably would. It would still be shit though.

Anyway maybe Mou should concentrate on not serving up shit like Wednesday and the atmosphere might improve

No. Thought not.
Maybe he doesn't think there is much point?

If we are judging best defence by who has conceded the fewest goals then Kevin is right. United have the best defence in the league. No Bailly for half the season aswell wow.

We probably do have the best defence in the league. The standard of defenders and defences just isn't that good atm. When you consider what the likes of £75m virgil van Dyke was up to yesterday.

Alderwield.....erm.....can't think of many CBs I'd want from any of the other top five clubs.

Certainly nothing like the standard of Rio, Vidic, Terry, Carragher, Carvalho, Campbell, sessions.

Statistically, it's fine. The concern is more about how we defend as a team (from Lukaku failing to hold the ball up to Pogba leaning huge gaps...) against teams that are actually any good.

I don't think we have the best defenders tbh. Especially those at City and Spurs are better than what we have imo.

I'd expect United and Chelsea to be the best defensive sides as we have the most defence-focused managers out of the top six clubs. Both teams will base their tactics on not leaving gaps at the back and making few errors in possession.

It'll keep us pretty solid against most sides in the league, but perhaps the real standard of our defenders is exposed in the big games, especially away from home. For a team with the best defensive record, you don't back us to keep a clean sheet in a big game.

Would be a very simplistic way of looking at it though, wouldn’t you agree?

The kind of analysis I’d expect from Kevin given his limited brain function, but not from yourself tbh

Would also point out that City have only conceded one goal more than us, but look at how many more goals their defenders have created.

Viewing a defence simply in terms of goals conceded is outdated thinking.
