In the 90's we just attacked constantly giving the opposition plenty of scope to catch us on the break or in a lull in play from our boys.

I've got loads of full matches from the 90s and early 00s and believe me we didn't press opposition as a team. I agree we weren't as passive but we still didn't stop the opposition from playing enough.
One of the reason we got caught on the counter alot was that we didn't keep the opposition penned in when they got the ball back from us in their defensive third of the pitch
