ddg, evans, valencia and carrick have all been quality for most of the season but half a year of scholes has put every other outfield player into perspective imo

scholes

de gea has got increasingly better and better.
Evans has improved, thankfully.
Valencia has been great every three games.
Rooney has been poor but vital.

But scholes is the reason united are top and occasionally playing decent football.

Scholes has been class, but saying he's the reason were top is a bit much. He's started 9 games. That's one more than Anderson.

DDG for me. Never thought I'd be saying that tbh

evans deserves some love tbh, he's been the best centre half in the league this season

Scholes, no doubt. Evans has been very good during the same time period though.

Evans

Which in itself is evidence of how poor we've been.

Carrick, started to go off the boil in the last few games but has really been the only player to have shown consistent performances over an extended period.

Scholes has been quality but not that many games, shows the struggles of the rest of the squad. Valencia, poorish first half of the season, much stronger latterly, similar with De Gea. Jones was terrific for the first 2-3 months but has fallen away badly, Nani oscillated between excellent, abysmal and injured.

Evans really deserves a lot more credit, horrendous season 10/11, a major weak link but has come back with a lot more mental toughness to his game, rarely allowed himself to be bullied as he was the previous season.

Rooney with 30+ goals should be the frontrunner but his performances have not really sparkled despite the goals. Odd season for him, effective but disappointing at the same time.

Rooney , with 'Big Tone' in second Calender year so far would have been the ginger one.

'Man' of the year Big tone walks it .....I heart him

Having done a quick calculation I would say Scholes has gained us approx 27 points this season whereas De Gea has saved us about 26 so for that reason Scholes JUST edges it.

this season i said. who's been better? kompany was excellent first half of the season but has been poor since christmas, coinciding with city's poor form. vermaelen has been good, missed a fair chunk of the season but he's a good shout. rio's been up and down a bit. i reckon this season evans has been as good as anyone.
