Will never happen as long as Grondona is in charge of the AFA.

I see my old reverse curse worked a treat with Higuain finishing nicely, very lucky not to have gone a goal down seconds before. Even if Argentina qualify, there are that many problems behind the scenes at that it is only delaying the inevitable explosive fall-out that will happen. And thats ignoring the fact that Maradona couldn't manage a five a side team

Argentina living very dangerously, Heinze got carved, took a great save from Romero, then on the follow up Insua stopped a certain goal with his harm, could easily have been given as a pen.

Grimmers, can you shed any light on why Grondona was dead against Ruggeri being appointed to the set-up?

They just don't like each other I guess. A couple of years ago, Ruggeri very publicly criticised Grondona, said he was killing Argentinian football, said he was an old man, etc.

Valencia scored for Ecuador, Luis Suarez equalised, draw would be a good result for Argentina under the circumstances. Anyone know the Argentina goalkeeping situation? why is Abbondanzieri out of favour? and whats happened to Ustari?

He's not helping himself is he? How defensive do they want to go? Peru offering nothing going forward so why go defensive.

Argueably theve the most experienced and strongest squad in the world but struggling to qualify.

Abbondanzieri's form was poor last season and he really struggled in his last few caps. He's been no better since going back to Boca. He's completely out of the picture now.

Ustari badly injured a knee at the Olympics and was out for most of last season because of it, and is still playing himself back into form.
