United midfielder Anderson has been ruled out for six months with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The Brazilian was forced off in the first half against West Ham on Tuesday.

Sir Alex said on Thursday that he hoped the 21-year-old would be fit for the start of the 2010/11.

Shame for the guy but I guess we have to take the positives. In Keano's case, 9 months of watching the team made him an even more influential player. Let's hope he takes on board what's needed, watches closely everything Giggs does and learns.

That's what I'd expect too, but it relies on an injury free two weeks for the players in question.
