No big deal for me personally as I have plenty of gay mates. But it would be a huge story in football. There are some fans that still make monkey sounds to intimidate black players. There are many reasons there are no openly gay professional footballers currently playing.

It just needs someone big to come out and there's no bigger than Ronaldo.

As soon as one came out it'd set of a chain reaction. Of course there will be some people who mock and ridicule but they'd almost certainly get more support and cheers than they would boos, in this country at least.

Not had the easiest of starts tbf. I wish him nothing but luck. The lad has worked his balls off to get were he is.
