Don't care about the numbers tbh but Liverpool's business in the market puts ours to £#%&!ing shame.

Yep. There was an article a while ago about the level of detail they go into in the research and scouting of new players that was quite incredible. Whereas it feels like ours are pulled out of a £#%&!ing hat

Nah our research is all about how many clicks it will generate and whether it will excite sponsors.

Presumably Fellaini is here to generate clicks from rival fans

Moyes bought him (twice) LVG kept him and Jose' extended his contract. Failed transfers for us are the players we keep.

Some of the deals falling through make sense at least ( Mina and toby )
Woody isn't the problem.

Agreed with the reasoning, too.

I think Woody is fine....if he wasn't in charge of transfers. He's clearly good at running/making the club more money but we need somebody different to deal with transfers.

He's also clearly got a strict set of rules from above when it comes to being as tight as possible to the true valuation of a player.

Leveraged buyout is illegal in America? Since when?

I think the level of spending is fine, what it has been spent on has been a very mixed bag. Pretty much every season since Fergie left there have been deals that looked conspicuously better value than we were doing, we just look way off the pace in terms of player knowledge and more importantly knowledge of what people are available for.

Plus there are players we've got shot of that could probably have done a job, letting go of Zaha and Depay permanently rather than giving them a years loan to rebuild confidence stick out as prime examples. Letting go of Nani a year or two early given our continued hole at right wing and lack of pace.

They are or at least were with sports teams at the time the Glazers bought us.

I'm sure I read something to the effect that the Glazers were doing what they did to us over here because they couldn't do it any more over there

You can call Pogba, Jose, Woowoo all you like but whilst the club is run by tight arsed investment bankers who don’t give a shite and have no appreciation of the club other than its profitability.... this didn’t start with Moyes, LVG or Jose. It started a few years before Fergie saw the writing on the wall, when he replaced Ronaldo with Owen etc. steady decline started from European Champions to this. We won’t get relegated but this is heading towards the post-Busby debacle.

United haven't had an owner that just loved the club ever, Edward's and his dad before him were using it to line their pockets before we went public.

We've spent £650million on players since Fergie left having just finished 13 points clear, what does a non parasite level of spending look like? How much did the job really need? I'm not a fan of how the Glazers bought the club but getting beat by the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield and struggling to beat Burnley cannot be blamed on a lack of spending.

This.

Money has been spent. A lot of it. Throwing money isn't the issue. The lack of the right manager who can get the best out of players is the problem.
