The lads messing his hair up was a bit out of order

Probably contributed to us conceding imo

Very well for the first 55-65 mins. Tidy on the ball, a few forward bursts that were promising but reliant on Sanchez being capable of finding a red shirt, so no joy. Hit a wall after that period, started to stand off and they got some joy down his side. Scored though during that tough spell, so a show of resilience.

Leicester did start with 2 full backs on the right so perhaps some temperance of the praise is merited. Apparently looked vulnerable all pre-season and better teams and individuals will test him.

A last attempt with Shaw is worth a go, 3 years ago he looked a world class full back in the making, you would be spending 60+ million this summer to get the player he was when Utd bought him, maybe it is still there.

Decent performance aside from the goal

Some good off the ball runs like the one for the goal and for the most part solid defensively

Still think from a technical stand point he needs serious improvement
Panics a lot when closed down
Needs to play his way out of opposition pressing much better

He did enough

He's not gonna just play seamlessly from being completely.

We're looking for progress and some was there. He was picked. He played well. He scored. We won.

It's something to build on and he deserves a moment like that.

Pogba: “Luke Shaw, I want to say something. He is someone who works very hard in training. He looks after himself, people criticise him. He didn’t have a lot of chances to play last season. He deserves respect, he deserves people to be happy for him.”

Fair play to him he did well . By no means outstanding but hopefully he can take a lot of confidence from that. Did enjoy how happy the lad was . Not his biggest fan but want him to succeed at the club . He actually now has a goals per game ratio 😁

Did not stand out average at best
Not saying he was flawless, just that he looked like he had a bit more assurance about him for the last 10 mins.
