The Froggies invaded in 1066 and we had french (plantagenet) kings until the welsh took over nearly 400 years later... england speaks neither french nor welsh, not even scots, who came after the taffs, then we had the dutch and finally the krauts... but england still speaks english... well some form of it anyway, it's more an international language nowadays with many regional dialects... not sure what my point is now... |

It had nothing to do with the queen or for my country an island I was spewed out on due to timings and luck. |

Can totally understand him not wearing a poppy, and taking a stance against it. Anyone who can't understand his reasoning is a bit simple.
If he'd turned his back on the anthem (he didn't), that would be completely poor form. Forget the lyrics, it's still something likely to insult some his supporters, team-mates, friends and neighbours etc. If you're happy with living here and enjoying all the perks that brings, a level of respect is needed. Any people who have a problem with the English though should £#%&! off and support another team. Manchester United are English |

That's the whole point....if, like other national anthems, the words were about the country then he might show respect.....but it's about the mother of the commander in chief of a British army regiment who murdered innocent civilians from the estate where he grew up He did the right thing |
